Court Presence

I've always been intrigued by the graphic quality of tennis courts, but find it challenging to add my own touches. In "Court Presence," the shadow of a tree falls on both the fence and court, yet the camera angle makes the shadow on the fence appear further to the left than that cast on the court.

Fence and Lighthouse

Spaciousness and isolation are two elements that I love to give voice to. In "Fence and Lighthouse," the ominous sky, sign, fence, closed door, and lack of tourists help to convey these elements. To enlarge, click image.

Young Tourist

This is an example of my fascination with the innumerable ways man made and natural landscapes merge. The path runs between The Yaquina Head Lighthouse near Newport, Oregon and an adjacent visitors parking lot.

Rain and Wind

Photographing in rain is not my idea of fun. Sometimes, however, the elements create a situation that "ideal"
weather would not present. I took this image through

Montague, CA

After photographing an awesome liftoff at Montague's annual hot air balloon festival, I wandered into the center of town where I captured this image.

Biggs Grain Elevator

I particularly like the way the top of this grain elevator is painted by light which falls into shadow in the lower section, creating a sense of mystery.

AnnaLana

This image was taken through a garden, which I intentionally threw out of focus as I concentrated on AnnaLana's response to my presence while she worked on a craft project. It was almost as though we were playing a quiet version of peek-a-boo.
